The City of Chattanooga is moving forward with constructing a modern Fire Station 14 facility to bolster emergency response capabilities and safety infrastructure across the South Chattanooga and St. Elmo communities. The new station will replace the existing, structurally impaired facility on W 39th Street—which was originally built in 1974—and relocate operations to a new site in the 3800 block of Ohls Avenue.

Project Timeline
Start Date: Late 2026 (Subject to MOU finalization)
The Rebuild of Fire Station 14 is currently in the Planning phase.
- Design & Site Prep: Site address finalization and phase 1 environmental/soil testing are currently active.
- Agreements: Finalizing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to finalize site transfer and construction milestones.
- Groundbreaking: Physical construction is projected to commence in late 2026 once design and site testing wrap up.
